Having insight in your energy flows is essential for taking the right steps in the energy transition. Without data about your consumption you are not in control of this subject and not capable of making the correct choices towards becoming energy neutral. Attaining insight in energy starts by collecting (energy)data from your building(s).

From building data to energy savings
Did you know your buildings contain a lot of information that can tell you everything about your consumption and can help you to optimize this? You can import data from every possible data source and process this to relevant information and data. Think of data sources like energy meters, alternative energy sources, sensors and climate systems. These data deliver insight in your consumption on multiple levels and possibly also offer insight in things like energy production, comfort, efficiency and redelivery to the net. By adding data about opening hours, inside temperatures and weather information it will become possible to execute smart analysis and unveil extra savings.

Every building is unique!
Every building is unique and that can be seen by the presence of the different sorts of data sources in a building. Not every building will have smart meters and not every building will have sub-meters. Some buildings have solar panels or a thermal energy storage system. Also the data output of different types of building management systems can vary greatly.

Data from every type of BMS
A building management system tells a lot about your main meters, but can often also tell you a lot about other energy flows within your building. In a BMS a lot of data sources are collected regarding heating, cooling and ventilation. Also a BMS often collects data concerning inside temperatures, opening hours and occupation. These data help you with attaining a detailed image of your consumption.

There are many different BMS on the market, which function and process data in different ways. Some examples of existing BMS datalinks which are used daily in ErbisOne are: Priva, Siemens, Johnson, BRControls, Webeasy etc.

Data from energy production
More and more buildings contain installations for sustainable energy production like heat pumps, solar panels and thermal energy storage systems. By collecting data from these installations, you obtain insight in the functioning and efficiency.

Data from sustainable installations can be obtained in different ways. This data can be imported in a BMS, then the data from the BMS can be exported. In another case the data can be collected directly by the supplier of the installation, for example through an API-link. Dataloggers, sensors, databases…

Besides main meter data, data from BMS or other sustainable installations, there are many other possible data sources and sorts of data which ErbisOne can use. Think about dataloggers, sensors and databases. All kinds of developments within the energy transition like electric vehicle charging stations and batteries are asking for more data and information processing. Each supplier often has their own API or communication protocol for this. The power of ErbisOne is to bring all this together. And if a datalink doesn’t exist, the experienced ErbisOne development team can create the new datalink.
