Interactive dashboards in your own style and layout

In the user-friendly web-based ErbisOne Portal, the energy data is processed and made visible in clear reports. This allows you to keep track of your energy flows. The ErbisOne portal is one of the options that allows you to clearly visualize your energy data.

Visualizing and sharing energy data, in the form of dashboards, reports, analyses and presentations, contributes to a successful energy policy. In my previous blog, you have already become acquainted with the visualization possibilities of the ErbisOne energy display. By sharing energy data on information screens, as you can do with the help of the energy display, you share your energy performance with internal and external stakeholders. In this way, your organisation works on more awareness and support for your energy policy.
More and more organisations want to go a step further and want to share their energy policy and performance widely with various stakeholders in an interactive way. They need to be able to share more (technical) insights or want to get their target group moving with the use of visualizations. For organizations that need a form of visualization that fits one-on-one with their organization, energy policy, goal and target group, ErbisOne offers: customized dashboards.

Custom dashboards
A custom dashboard is basically nothing more than a website. A website where you can share energy data, targets, performance and/or other information with internal and/or external stakeholders. What information this is and how you want to display it is up to you. You literally determine the content of each pixel on this page, which is the biggest advantage compared to the possibilities in the ErbisOne portal. In custom dashboards you work with the same data as in the portal, you enjoy the same speed and reliability, but in custom dashboards you are completely in the lead in shaping this.
With the ErbisOne energy display, you also decide what information you want to share and how it is visualized. A energy display and a custom dashboard are both suitable for sending information. The big difference is that a custom dashboard has the added advantage that it is completely interactive and clickable.

Purpose & target group: what do you want to show?
Of course, creating appealing dashboards or presentations is not an end in itself, but only a means to convey certain information to your target audience. Logically, it is therefore important to think very carefully in advance about the purpose of the visualization in combination with its target group. Always start with the initial question: for whom do I want to make the information available and what information needs are required.
When it comes to visualizing energy, you can literally 'go either way'. For example, you can offer a technical dashboard with detailed information about installations or a complex production process. Or your organization has many different locations that you want to display graphically on a map. These are just two examples of the infinite possibilities that custom dashboards offer. Below I will share a number of application areas of custom dashboards with you based on various practical examples.

Inform
Sharing information about your energy policy creates more awareness and support among your target group. This is an indispensable part of successful energy management. With a custom dashboard, you can include your internal and external stakeholders in your energy policy in an interactive way by sharing beautiful visualizations, such as maps, graphs, diagrams and images.
A good example is Leiden University's website Duurzaam in Beeld. This university shares the energy data of all its buildings within its campuses on an interactive (clickable) map. The university sees it as its social duty to work with staff and students on visibility and awareness of environmental measures and wants to set an example for others (source: Duurzaam in beeld, Leiden University).

Technical management
Having insight into all energy flows is certainly not only for the purpose of informing external stakeholders, it is at least as important for all departments within an organization that have to deal with energy management. This includes technical installation management, facility management, but also financial energy management. With a custom dashboard, you create an environment that allows you to optimally perform the various forms of management, by showing the right data that is essential for this. Think of the right parameters, KPIs, alarms, et cetera. The example below shows an example of a custom dashboard for managing multiple CHPs. Based on this dashboard, it is easy to see where action needs to be taken with regard to points of attention in the generation installation.

Schematic representation of complex processes
In complex environments and processes, such as large hospitals, extensive energy networks and complex production processes, it is difficult to clearly map all energy flows. Here, too, a custom dashboard can offer a solution. Where it will be impossible to visualize your unique and complex situation clearly in a standard environment, you can achieve this with a custom dashboard. In a well-customized dashboard, you have insight at a glance into where and how much energy is consumed and how the energy flows run.
The example below shows how different energy flows in a complex energy grid are made transparent with the help of a custom dashboard. In this way, it is also possible to have a continuous overview of your energy balance (the distribution of energy flows within your buildings).

We create your custom dashboard!
Every organization is unique and requires a different approach. In most situations, these can be put into a standard portal, but in practice there are also many situations in which a more extensive form of visualization becomes necessary, as described in the examples above. These examples show what is possible with a custom dashboard, but as mentioned earlier, the possibilities are unlimited. You determine the purpose and target group of the dashboard and, together with our developers, you process this into a high-quality, interactive environment that suits your issue and organization.
